Carlie Sweater is a timeless and classic sweater with an elegant saddle-shoulder construction and a wide, ribbed and folded neckband. The sweater is worked from the top down, first back and forth and then in the round. 1 strand of Merino + 1 strand of Soft Silk Mohair are held together throughout – creating a soft and beautiful fabric. When it comes to color combinations – the world is your oyster! Just by changing how you combine these two different yarn qualities, you can achieve calm and subtle tone-on-tone nuances by choosing colors that are fairly similar, or a more marled look should you instead choose to play with colors with a higher contrast.

You begin with working the upper part of the yoke back and forth while shaping the saddle shoulders and neck opening. After the neck opening is finished, work is continued in the round to the underarms. Here, work is divided and the body is finished in the round with a ribbed hem before the sleeves are worked from the top down and finished with ribbed cuffs. Finally, stitches are picked up for the neckband that is finished in rib, folded and stitched down.
