Like the Carlisle Cabled Scarf, texture is the theme for these mittens. With intertwining cables, purl valleys, and single right cross centered ribbing, the Carlisle Cabled Mittens have a distinctive style. Use a nice Aran or bulky tweed for males, or a soft worsted alpaca blend for females. Knit these mittens for a nice addition to the scarf, or just for cozy stand-alone mittens.

Sizing can be adjusted with yarn and needle sizes:

  • Worsted, US 6 for petite
  • Worsted, US 7 for small
  • Worsted, US 8 for medium
  • Aran or Bulky, US 8 for large

The knitting skill level is intermediate and above. Knowledge of cables, right crosses, knitting in-the-round, grafting, and using double pointed needles is necessary. The pattern is both written (using tables) and charted for easy interpretation. Links to instructional videos are included on the PDF. Look for other matching accessory patterns to come in the future.
