This is a scarf that I designed using the ‘Post and Shells’ stitch. I used Rowan cotton cashmere which is a blend of 85% cotton, 15% cashmere. It’s a DK weight yarn and the shade is called Pearly Pink (shade no. 00216)
The approx. length of the skein is 125m/137 yards; I used x3 50g balls.

It’s a straightforward pattern which explains how to set up the rows; once you get going you can make the scarf as long as you like. It can be joined to make an ‘infinity’ style of scarf, instructions for this are given in the pattern. Alternatively, you could leave it without joining to make a straight scarf of any length.

The length of my scarf when the two ends are stitched together to make the infinity scarf is about 26 inches the width is 7 inches.
If you use a different yarn for this pattern you may need to use a different quantity of yarn, or you may want to make a longer, looser style of scarf and so will need a bit more yarn.
I used a 4.5mm hook for the scarf in the photos
(The yarn label recommended a 4mm but I preferred the drape that a 4.5mm created.)

I’ve also used this pattern in merino wool (Debbie Bliss Rialto DK)and with a 4mm hook. For that scarf I used x5 50g balls of yarn to make a longer one than the original, and this also worked really nicely.
