About:

The Carnation Lace Cardigan is a bottom up, lace shawl that uses single crochets, double crochets, and chains. This is an intermediate crochet pattern that involves some construction. The unique Carnation Lace stitch looks complex, but is actually very easy to do. The Cardigan is a great summer layering piece or swim suit coverup. It adds a touch of femininity while being light and airy enough for hot summer days. The pattern calls for Lion Brand Coboo, which creates the delicate stitch openings and gorgeous drape. Other yarns can be used as well, but I recommend sticking with a non-acrylic yarn (cotton, bamboo, etc.) to get the best drape possible.

The pattern has numerous photos to help you with the Carnation stitch pattern and the garment construction. There is also a crochet stitch chart for the Carnation stitch.

Sizing:

The pattern has been graded for sizes XS-XL. It is intended to be a fitted garment with short, capped sleeves. There is an official size guide in the pattern. When selecting a size, I recommend choose a garment hip size that is 0”-2” larger than your actual hip measurement. For reference, model’s hip measurement is approximately 37” and is wearing a size Small.

Yardage Info:

You will need 3-4 balls of Lion Brand Coboo to complete this project or 696-928 yards of similar weight 3 yarn. Sizes XS-M will require 3 balls, and sizes L & XL will require 4 balls.
