This is a long hooded scarf with pockets. The cable pattern is staggered to create a cascading effect. The cable pattern is simple, easily memorized and you can keep track of where you are at in the pattern by just looking at the cables, so there is minimal row counting involved.

I prefer the seamless look of the provisional cast-on or afterthought pocket when I added the pockets. If you are unfamiliar with these methods; the long tail cast-on can be substituted, however, your joins maybe more visible.
