These fingerless mitts are a fun textured stitch sampler and skill builder, with mirrored panels of garter stitch, moss stitch, slipped stitches and cables. The garter stitch palm section acts as an abacus: each garter “ridge” on the RS equals two rows of knitting, making it easy to keep track of where you are in the simple cable chart. Working them flat keeps the knitting quick and unfussy, and they’re finished off with two short seams and an optional picked-up thumb edging.
