Inspired by an exquisite knit cap in a museum collection, the Casilda Cowl features decorative texture and lace stitches. The original cap, knit in very fine gauge silk, is estimated to be from Spain, late 18th-c.

Knit in the round, the cowl starts with a lacy border. The main pattern features alternating columns of garter, a fern-like pattern, and a simple lace stitch.

Generously wide, the cowl is cosy and warm when doubled, and the layers decoratively arranged at the neckline.
