This small-scale neck piece is a one-size-fits-most piece primarily intended to cover the neck for warmth. It only minimally extends onto the shoulders. Castle Wall is meant to be cowl-like in shape with the addition of JUL stud buttons to control the behavior of the finished piece on the body.
The reversibility of garter stitch allows the entire triangular piece to be turned upside down, with the point of the triangle folded down, and then worn like a cowl, the layers held together with JUL stud buttons or stud brooches.
This pattern may also be worked in fingering-weight yarn, which changes the gauge, creating a larger triangle.
