This pattern is for knitting and felting a mouse for a cat toy.
I knitted the pictured mice with sportweight yarn made from the wool of our sheep. I dyed the wool with “Greener Shades” dyes.

Materials needed for this project are:

  • sportweight wool-yarn (suitable for felting) in various colors. A total of about 40 yards is needed.
  • about 2 yards of DK wool-yarn in a dark color for making nose and eyes
  • 1 set of 5 double pointed needles #4 (3.5mm)
  • 1 tapestry needle
  • 1 crochet hook (to pull in ends)
  • row marker
  • some polyester fill
  • about 2x4inch of cotton fabric to make a small sack
  • dried catnip

This pattern is for personal, non-commercial use only.

If you are interested in our yarn (Timberwolf Farm) I can send you information about what we have available at the time. Since we are selling at local markets, availability of our yarns varies. We have 2 alpacas and 11 sheep. We carry sport weight and DK (light worsted) yarns in white and different shades of gray. Some of it is spun and blended by hand. I also dye yarn with plants from our garden (indigo, coreopsis, madder, marigold, weld) and with acid dyes from the Greener Shades brand.
