About the Pattern

Namaste! Cats are naturally flexible, so cat yoga is a part of their daily routine. This Cat Yoga Scarf celebrates the delightfully fun yoga poses that cats excel at and always seem to find themselves in, whether they are sleeping, grooming, or stretching.

Double knit, the scarf is fully reversible, featuring opposite color schemes on each side. Solid colors or yarns with subtle or gradual color changes that contrast with each other work best to show off the design. The color work design is chart only, not written instructions.

The finished width of the scarf is approximately 5.5 inches (14 cm). The finished length of the scarf is adjustable, with instructions included for the following lengths:

• Extra Short (58 inches / 147 cm)
• Short (62 inches / 157 cm)
• Medium (66 inches / 168 cm)
• Long (70 inches / 178 cm)
• Extra Long (74 inches / 188 cm)

Tip: When choosing a scarf length, a good guideline is to make the scarf as long as the recipient is tall. The scarf pictured is the Medium length.

Materials

• Size 2 US (2.75 mm) needles.
• Size 1 US (2.25 mm) needles (optional for a neater cast on edge).
• Needle to weave in ends.
• Two contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn in the following approximate amounts (for each color):
  • Extra Short: 400 yards (366 m) each
  • Short: 425 yards (389 m) each
  • Medium: 450 yards (411 m) each
  • Long: 475 yards (434 m) each
  • Extra Long: 500 yards (457 m) each

The yarn used in the sample is Knit Picks Chroma Fingering in N2215 Solar Storm and Knit Picks Stroll Fingering in 23701 Black.
