SKILL LEVEL: Beginner/Easy

The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle has been a family favorite for many years! This set of nesting baskets was inspired by the book. You can use any yarn and colors of your choice if you would like to customize the set to match a nursery or specific decor.

There are 8 baskets in all, the pattern includes instructions for each basket. The smallest basket measures approximately 5.5” in diameter and they gradually increase in size with the largest basket measuring 21”. The largest basket stands approximately 4” tall as shown. Size will vary depending on the yarn and hook size you use.

This an easy to follow pattern. You should have a basic understanding of the listed crochet stitches. The baskets are worked in the round and the only sewing it to weave in ends and add features to the largest basket.

Stitches:
~CH, SL ST, SC, HDC, Crab Stitch (explained in the pattern).

Supplies:
~Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn in Dusty Green, Kelly Green, & Dusty Blue (Or any yarn of your choice).
~Scrap pieces of yarn in yellow, red, black, and purple … to make the face and antenna.
~J Hook
