This pattern is available from numonday.com for £4.00.

This is a pattern for a cathedral window scarf based on hexagons – I call it cathedral window because the combination of colours surrounded by the black border, when they are all joined together, has the effect of a cathedral window.

You can make it as small or as large as you like.

I’ve used DK wool for this pattern and a 4mm hook but you could upsize it with aran or chunky wool and a larger hook (as per suggested size on the wool band).

Materials Required

  • DK wool and a 4mm hook - I’ve used 11 different colours and black, you could use lots of different scraps of colour you have but you will need no more than 100g DK for the final round of the hexagons and to join the hexagons together. My scarf weighed 170g in total

  • Scissors or snips

  • Yarn needle
