Catherine Cowl
Catherine is a simple, satisfying knit that’s ideal if you haven’t used circular needles before – it’s small enough to see results quickly and only takes one 25g ball of cashmere. It’s also perfect for more experienced knitters looking for a fuss-free project that adds a touch of colour to any outfit.
I originally designed this one for the boys, but as soon as it came back from my knitter, I knew I needed one too! Over the years it’s become a real Purl &Jane favourite, and I love spotting it “out in the wild” around Skipton. The best moments? Seeing one gifted on, worn by someone I don’t even know.
The Catherine Cowl is wonderfully versatile – it can be worn as a neck warmer, ear warmer, or even knitted shorter to make a cosy hair band. However you choose to make it, this pattern is all about easy stitches, quick results and everyday wearability.
