This is a beginner-intermediate pattern for a cowl. You will need to know how to do yarn overs, slip and knit stitches, and knitting stitches together.

You will need a US8 (5mm) 16 inch circular needle, a stitch marker, and a tapestry needle.

The cowl measures roughly 13” (w) by 8 1/2” (l) in both yarns. The gauge shouldn’t matter as long as you use worsted or aran weight yarn. I don’t like cowls to be too big, but if you do, you can increase the cast on stitches by increments of 7. For example, the pattern calls for a cast on of 98 stitches, but it you want your cowl to be bigger, try casting on 105 stitches (or more as desired).

I used one skein of Berocco Remix for the blue cowl and one skein of Red Heart Unforgettable for the mixed color cowl. I do caution using Unforgettable. I like the end result, but while knitting with the yarn, it split several times.
