ABOUT THE PATTERN

This is a slightly slouchy cabled hat. Knit out of worsted weight yarn, it is a quick project with a beautiful finished object. The pattern utilizes a large cable design and is knit in the round so there are no seams.

The pattern is sized for adult small and large.

MATERIALS

Yarn: Worsted weight, ~150 yds (136 m) needed for adult small. ~170 yds (155m) for large. Sample uses Knit Picks Swish (worsted; merino; 110 yds (100 m)/50 grams).
Needles: Circular needles, size US 5 (3.75 mm) or size needed to obtain guage, length ~16 inches (40 cm) and dpns or ~32+” (81 cm) for magic loop.
Notions: Stitch marker, cable needle.
Gauge: 30 sts and 48 rows per 4” (10 cm) in cable pattern, not stretched.
Sizing: Adult small and large. Head sizes ~22” (56 cm) and 26” (66 cm).
Finished Size: Circumference, not stretched: small 16” (41 cm) and large 19” (48 cm). Length from brim to top: 9½” (24 cm) and 10½” (26cm).
Techniques: Decreases, knitting in the round, cables.
