Ceilidh Frost Cowl is a romantic masterpiece that captures the very essence of a Scottish dance. Like a passionate ceilidh under the starry Highland skies, this long tube cowl weaves together intricate peaked cable stitches. Loop it around once loosely or multiple times to keep snug on a winter day, as a symbol of affection as enduring as the winter’s chill.

MATERIALS + SIZING

YARN
• Malabrigo Arroyo in Flavia: 3 skeins, or approx 941 yds/860 m of DK/sport weight yarn

NEEDLES
• US 4/3.5 mm circular needle or double pointed needles, at least 12”/30 cm long
or size needed to obtain gauge

NOTIONS
• cable needle
• spare US 4/3.5 mm needle for grafting
• 2 stitch markers
• tape measure
• tapestry needle
• waste yarn or spare cable

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Size: one size
a - circumference: 51.25”/128 cm
b - width: 7.25”/18 cm

GAUGE (BLOCKED)
28 sts x 40 rounds = 4”/10 cm in cable pattern (see written instructions or chart) worked in the round, blocked
Exact gauge is not crucial, but a different gauge will affect finished measurements and yarn usage.

NOTES
• This cowl is worked in the round starting with a provisional cast-on, forming a long tube. Once desired length is reached, the two ends are grafted together to form the long cowl.
• This cowl can be adjusted in both length and width; to make a shorter/longer length, work fewer or more repeats by adding/subtracting multiples of 32 rounds. To increase the width of the cowl, add multiples of 50 sts at cast on.
