Celebration Shawl
In my mind I had this Celebration Shetland Lace Shawl, but I couldn’t imagine how the pattern was for real, so I made the Celebration Stole first. It was how I imagined it should be and I changed the pattern of the Stole in to this Celebration Shawl pattern. Not an easy task.
In my mind it had to be a Shawl for a real celebration like a wedding, so I hoped it could be Wedding Ring Shawl. Ultimately it was. I was able to thread the shawl through my wedding band.
The patterns are bells for inviting to the gathering, garlands, hearts, roses, strawberries.
It isn’t a pattern for first time knitters. Especially the garland is tricky.
I used round knit needles because of the amount of stitches. You need a lot of markers.
The yarn I used is Heirloom Knitting Ethereal CashSilk 2 ply 70% Cashmere 30% Silk. It’s very thin, so if you use other yarn the size of the shawl will be different of course.
As said the yarn is really thin. I think I didn’t stretch the shawl all the way out during blocking because of the fragile yarn. So if you would stretch it more, it might be larger than the stated size.
But in the end the result is exquisite and beautiful.
