These socks are knitted from leg to toe with a butterfly motif knitted in roosimine.
Have you ever heard of Roosimine? It’s an Estonian inlay technique that creates the illusion of embroidery through the use of floats in contrasting yarn on the right side of your knitting.
The name Roosimine actually means “decorating with roses” and it stems from a style of short stitch embroidery that was typically done on the Estonian island of Muhu. Interestingly, this technique can also be called Roositud.
