Babies need a lot of everyday socks, but sometimes an occasion calls for something extra special.

These socks look like darling booties with all their detail, but they still wear soft and snug on tiny feet.

They make look complicated and fancy, but they are a delight to knit and require no cable needle, so they are on & off the needles in only a few hours.

A pair uses less than 20g of yarn, so find some lovely mini skeins or sock yarn leftovers in your stash and knit a few pairs for a very special little person.

The pattern is written for MagicLoop technique (my favorite for socks) but is easily adaptable for DPNs.

The front pattern is obviously a showstopper, but other details of the construction help to keep these socks from slipping off active feet.

I’ve included extra notes on this pattern to simplify the knit. It quickly falls into a rhythm and you’ll want to knit a little stack of them!

The sample was knit using my 85/15 luxe merino/nylon hand-dyed yarn in color, Firewood. I suggest any tonal or solid yarn to highlight the detailing, but of course they will look lovely in whatever yarn you choose.

I hope you enjoy the knit and share your creations!

Happy Knitting, Friends!
