Celtic Designer’s Set(s) is my last project, completing this long lasting (16 years) Celtic knitting challenge.

Reading this famous Allen’s book I found eight basic knots, which are very interesting, easy to adopt into knitting and also easy to modify and join together, to create new paneled motifs. You can find them here (click)

I decided to make knitting patterns for each of them (with its mirror) and also to make the slight modifications of it. This way I received the base for the further work. Then I joined two repeats of each motif and noted that following this scheme - the possibilities become almost endless.

Looking at these motifs one by one you can easily recognize the method I used ans follow this method to create quite new motifs, basing ot theses ones or another you like. So these sets can also fulfill the role of tutorial. Hope it will be useful for the designer, who sometimes needs the subtle changes in the main motif to match it to the specific design.
