This shawl is reasonably simple to knit and combines some classic stitch patterns especially chosen to complement each other. Although not strictly speaking reversible, they do produce a lovely pattern on both sides and the box pleats (instructions included) are designed to be reversible.
The shawl is simplified by the fact that the Centre and Inner Panel stitch pattern repeats are 20 rows, the Left and Right Borders are 10 rows, and the Lattice is the same on every row.
Special techniques include Channel Island cast on (instructions included) which is not essential but does add an interesting detail, and also grafting. Three needle cast off could be used if preferred but this will be more noticeable.

erratum in earlier copies of this pattern: - Row 3 of the First Box PLeated border should read - “Row 3: K3, P15, K30, P30, K30, repeat from to last 18 sts, P15, K3 .”
