This pattern is for a rectangular doily, approximately 18”x 22” (done in #10 crochet cotton). However, it may be done in any size thread. There are also instructions included to very easily make larger sizes; squares as well as rectangles,

Approximate yardage for this pattern is about 500 yards of #10 thread (I used about one and a half 350 yard balls of Red Heart Classic #10) using a 1.80 mm hook.

PLEASE NOTE: Recently I had someone insinuate that this pattern was plagiarized from a 1990s pattern, which is completely incorrect.

Actually, this pattern was from an old photo given to me by my grandmother back in the early 70s, which she said she thought was from the 1940s. I began trying to create a similar pattern in the late 70s, but lost interest when my grandmother died. I started crocheting again in the early 2000s, and found the photo, notes and partial doily in an old sewing box and began working on it again. I really don’t appreciate the insinuation of plagiarism, as I worked very hard to create my own pattern, inspired by that old photo.
