Notes from the Designer:

Cesta is an asymmetrical shawl worked in a basketweave pattern. The shawl starts in one corner and works its way out by increasing stitches, creating a lovely texture. The entire pattern is crocheted with simple double crochets, front post double crochets, and back post double crochets, which makes it perfect for a beginner who is looking to master these stitches.

  • Click here to watch a video tutorial showing how to crochet this shawl.
  • Approximate total yardage used: 1,200 yds/1,097 m total (200 yds/183 m of each color).
  • The starting chain for each row does not count as a stitch.
  • Continuing to repeat Rows 10 - 13 will increase the width and height of the shawl.
  • Gently carry the yarn up the sides for the color change rows.
