The Cetacea Headband features a cozy mix of stitches to create a dense texture with raised whale bones and is knit flat with super bulky yarn, with three different seaming options included. The pattern has been written in Adult size, 21-23” but is easily adjusted to fit any size head from baby to teen/small adult. There is also an option to make it narrower, approximately 4.5” in height.

The pattern has been tested by many knitting testers, it is easy to follow with very helpful video tutorials to get you started with your headband.

This is an advanced beginner level pattern and you will need either straight needles or 24” circular US 11/8mm knitting needles

When working on this design, it made me think of whale bones and so I was inspired to connect it to these graceful giants of the sea! The word Cetacea originates from the Latin word Cetus, which refers to a large sea creature and the Greek word Ketos, meaning whales or sea monster.
