Remember making “chains” out of colored construction paper in school? This fun scarf recreates that fun! Using the seven colors that are common to school packs of construction paper, you can make a very traditional “paper chain” from soft, warm yarn. Or use more or fewer colors to make a holiday scarf, or one in school colors, or order the colors as a rainbow-- the possibilities are endless.

Because of its modular construction, the scarf can easily be lengthened, in about 3” increments, by making more or fewer links. Each link is crocheted in place, so there are no seams to sew.

The pattern (along with the whole Just Kidding Around Collection) has been rigorously tech edited and test crocheted by Joyce Lewis.

It’s time to festoon the world (or at least our necks) with soft warm versions of the classic paper chain!
