Near my 20th wedding anniversary I was inspired by a stray, mushy thought; “my heart is chained”. It made me grin and the idea for these top-down socks was born. I used a 3 stitch chain cable with a heart design for the instep “dangling” from the chains. The pattern has 4 sizes; however, a gauge adjustment chart is included giving an additional 6 sizes. An option for continuing the chain pattern for the length of the instep and omitting the heart is also included.

Yarn: 100g fingering weight sock yarn
Notions: 2 cable needles, tapestry needle, stitch markers
Gauge: 36 sts/4 inches in stst
Needles: two circular needles (I like 24“ lengths) 2.5 mm or size needed to get gauge.

Adjustment chart sizes:
34 st/4 inches 6 ½“ (7 ½“, 8 ½“, 9 ½“)
32 st/4 inches 7“(8“, 9“, 10“)

I would like to add a special thanks to my test knitter Deborah Higgins. Thank you for all your hard work!
