El Chal Playa Tiki es un chal con historia. El nombre viene de un programa de televisión educativo que veían mis hijos. Se trataba de unos amigos que se juntaban a jugar en un jardín común y con la imaginación, transformaban su entorno y tenían aventuras maravillosas. Una de estas aventuras fue en la playa Tiki, donde surfeaban olas gigantes, compartían sus más entretenidas locuras.
Yo soy chilena y vivo con mi familia en Essen, Alemania, a más de 3 horas del mar. A mí el mar, y creo que a mucha gente también, me fascina, me inspira y me tranquiliza…y es algo que extraño.

En este chal quise representar esa inmensidad de las playas que tenemos en Chile, pero con la libertad de crear tu playa según tu visión, tu imaginación y tu gusto.

El chal consta de 4 secciones: arena seca, arena húmeda, el agua llegando a la arena y el mar. ¡Te doy las herramientas para ir creando tu playa Tiki!

El chal Playa Tiki se teje en plano y tiene forma de medialuna, eso quiere decir, que se comienza por el centro y se van haciendo aumentos a los costados, creciendo de forma simétrica.
Por tratarse de un chal, es de talla única, pero te doy tips por si quieres hacerla de 1 sola madeja, o del porte que tú quieras.
Medidas Finales: 40 cm x 242 cm.

• 2 madejas de NCKY BIJOUX 100 % Merino Superwash Fingering (100 g = 420 m/459.32 yardas.) 3 ply (cualquier hilado fingering)

Te recomiendo un color sólido, porque tiene harta textura.

Playa Tiki Shawl
The Playa Tiki Shawl is a shawl with a story. Its name comes from an educational TV show my children used to watch about a group of friends who gathered to play in a shared garden. Using their imagination, they transformed their surroundings into wonderful adventures. One of these adventures took place at “Tiki Beach,” where they surfed giant waves and shared their most fun escapades.

I am Chilean, and I live with my family in Essen, Germany, more than three hours away from the ocean. Like many people, I am fascinated by the sea—it inspires me and calms me… and it is something I deeply miss.

In this shawl, I wanted to represent the vastness of the beaches we have in Chile, while giving you the freedom to create your own beach according to your vision, imagination, and taste.

The shawl consists of 4 sections: dry sand, wet sand, the water reaching the shore, and the deep blue sea. I am giving you the tools to create your very own Tiki Beach!

Construction and Fit
The Playa Tiki Shawl is worked flat in a half-moon (crescent) shape. This means it starts at the center and grows symmetrically through increases at the sides.

Since it is a shawl, it is one size fits all, but I have included tips in case you want to knit it using only one skein or adjust it to your preferred size.

Finished Measurements: 40 cm x 242 cm (approx. 15.75” x 95”).

Materials

Yarn: 2 skeins of NCKY BIJOUX 100% Merino Superwash Fingering (100 g = 420 m / 459 yds), 3-ply. (Any fingering weight yarn will work).

Note: I recommend using a solid color, as the pattern features a lot of texture.

Needles: 3.0 mm (US 2.5) circular needles with a 100 cm (40”) cable.
