The Chalet Jumper is a two-toned, oversized, drop-shoulder jumper with extra long sleeves and a roll neck, creating the perfect cosy fit. It is knitted in an overall stockinette stitch with a garter stitch hem and cuffs. This pattern is best suited for confident beginners/ intermediate knitters.

Level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate

Required Techniques: knitted cast on, knitting in the round, knitting flat, stockinette stitch, garter stitch, 1x1 rib stitch, German short rows, increasing, decreasing, backwards loop cast on, picking up stitches and binding off.

Gauge (after blocking):

In stockinette stitch (using 6mm US 10 needles): 15 sts / 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches.
In garter stitch (using 3.5mm US 4 needles): 15 sts / 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches.

Materials:

Work the jumper using two strands of any Aran Weight yarn (10ply - 8wpi) equivalent to using one strand of Chunky Weight yarn (12ply - 7wpi).

NOTE! The jumper can be worked in two different ways: using two strands of Aran weight yarn or one strand of Chunky weight yarn throughout.
