Gauge swatches should be worked over an odd number of stitches.  The pattern notes that "the gauge of the Honeycomb Tweed stitch pattern changes drastically when blocked.  It is essential to fully block your swatches and match both stitch and row gauge properly to ensure a well-fitting jacket."

The jacket is worked in one piece to the armholes, and is trimmed with a crochet border, worked in alternating colors using crab stitch.
