As many of you know, I am a ballet aficionado. This pattern, like so many of my designs, is inspired by dance. I always hope that a little of the beauty is see in dance and hear in music weaves its way into my patterns.

“Changement” is a switch – of the feet in ballet. But in this pattern, you will find that you will be changing something else. What will the change be? For that you will have to wait until more clues arrive! You can expect one clue per week, with each being about 20-25% of the pattern.

October 14, 2013: The first clue, and it’s short but sweet. Get all your supplies ready and cast on!

October 20, 2013: The real fun begins with beads and lace :)

October 27, 2013: More fun with beaded lace! Finishing up our beaded lace!

November 3, 2013: This clue is not short - though some of the rows are ;)

November 10, 2013: Ready to wear! This clue includes all of the pattern - clues 1 though 5. It’s now available!

Important note: A few KAL knitters were short on yarn, so I wrote a second version of this pattern. The new version will take approximately 375 yards. The original pattern used about 440 yards. The pattern includes both sizes. Clues 1 through 3 will be exactly the same for both versions of the shawl. Clues 4 and 5 have separate instructions for each size.

Bottom photo shows all the places where the MKAL knitters are living. It’s been quite an interesting experience knitting with you all!

Photo next to bottom is of a baby alpaca (called a cria) born during Clue 2 of our Mystery KAL. Congratulations to Catdragon! What could be better than a baby girl alpaca?

Small error in Clue #4: The first stitch in row 24 should be a slip stitch, not a knit stitch. It will not be noticeable in the completed shawl, however.
