If you knit socks for a charity project you never know which size will be needed. But also if you knit socks as a surprise gift you hardly can ask the size before.

So I designed those socks that stretch lengthwise and width wise so they cover about five (German) size with one sock comfortably. (And we don’t have half sizes in the German shoe sizing system.) And you hardly have to worry about wide or slim feet.

(If your kids feet still grow those socks also can be useful.)

Size M will fit size 39-39, L fits 39-43 and XL 42-47.

The second picture shows each pair on different sized feet. (Except the M size, we did not have a size 36 foot for the picture. But I had someone try for another occasion.)
