SIZE:
Your finished chickadee will measure approximately 2.4 inches (6 cm) tall and 3.7 inches (9.5 cm) long when made with the recommended yarn and hook. T

CONSTRUCTION:
The tail is crocheted onto the body, while the wings and beak are sewn on for a polished look. The pattern includes instructions for wire legs (for a sturdy, standing bird) and an optional crocheted leg version (non-standing).

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:

  • Light worsted (DK) or sport (4 ply) cotton yarn in white, black, gray, and beige I used Scheepjes Catona in Bridal White, Jet Black, Mercury, and Camel
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook (Size B-1 or C-2, depending on how tightly you crochet)
  • 5 mm safety eyes
  • Fiberfill
  • 3 stitch markers
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • 12 inches (30 cm) long piece of 1mm thick (18 AWG) craft wire (optional)
  • Small flat pliers (optional)
  • 2 drops of superglue (optional)
