Pattern is a very simple, stiff basket design made with the knit stitch using 2 strands of yarn with alternating techniques to form the little ‘hearts’ and colour change to form designs on the basket surface.

The original pattern is written for a large sized bucket of height 20 inches/51cm, base 15 inches/38cm across. This pattern is easily adaptable to other sizes.

You can use other types of yarn that can create a similar stiff texture with the appropriate size hook. The smaller the yarn weight, the smaller the basket.

You’ll need a total of about 3.5 kg of t shirt yarn in at least 2 to 4 colors. (there is no length listed for the yarn that I was using). A 10mm hook or any appropriate hook size.
