The inspiration for this design came from my cherished Navajo rug. Even before I became involved in the fiber world I was fascinated by Navajo weavers. They create intricate, unique designs that are not written down before they appear in their rugs. But don’t worry, for this hat I will take you into charted territory.

Like many Navajo designs, this piece has four-way symmetry. The top of the design mirrors the bottom half as the second half mirrors the first. Double knitting with a special cast-on make this hat reversible and refined.

I’ve included three video tutorials and a photo tutorial. The pattern is both written and charted,

Two sizes are offered to fit 22” and 24” head circumference. Please ask if you need a different size! Both sizes require one skein of each color.
