Skills needed are cast on, knit, purl, and knit 2 together. Hats work up quickly. Pattern includes tutorial for working with wine cork beads for two effects--> one for an active beads that flop about as you move your head and one for beads that are knitted on, fixed in place.

Needle Size 10.5 US (6.5m)
Use handspun bulky yarn in soft wool blends with WPI of 6 or 6.5 or commercial yarn that knits up at about 3 stitches per inch. Have fun finding a range of yarn from lightest pink fruit wines to rich, deep burgandies.
