I love symmetric designs. This is a brioche hat with a quite simple repeat allowing both your main and contrast colour to shine through on your right side. Use the unwrapped decreases to hide the yarn overs, creating even cleaner squares.

DK version:

Yarn: Sample 1, size M but knitted with one less pattern repeat: Fru Valborg, Silky Yak DK 212m/100g, MC: Khari Baoli, CC: Green Mile. Sample 2, size M: Mayflower, Easy Care Classic 106m/50g, MC: Light Aquamarine (298) CC: Dark Olive (291). You can use any DK yarn.

Needles: 3.0 mm/US 2.5 40 cm/16’’ circular, 3.5 mm/US 4 40 cm/16’’ circular and DPN’s or needles to work a small circumference in the round needed to achieve the gauge.
Gauge: 18 stitches x 22 rows for 10x10 cm in two-coloured brioche ribbing.

Yardage: M: MC: 93m/102yds, CC: 71m/77yds. (L): MC: 109m/119yds, CC: 83m/90yds

Finished size: Patterned sizes: M (L) For M (tight version): Height 24 cm, circumference 42 cm unstretched. For (L) (loose version): Height 24 cm, circumference 49 cm unstretched. Take in consideration the stretchiness of brioche. Note that sample 1 only has one pattern repeat to make it shorter (height 19 cm)

Yarn: Shown sample is knitted with Fru Valborg Merino Singles 365m/100g, MC: Hurricane CC: Woo. You can use any fingering weight yarn.

Needles: 3.0 mm/US 2.5 40 cm/16’’ circular and DPN’s or needles to work a small circumference in the round needed to achieve the gauge.

Gauge: 24 stitches x 30 rows for 10x10 cm in two-coloured brioche ribbing.

Yardage: M: MC: 135m/150yds CC:100m/110yds. (L): MC: 150m/165yds CC: 115m/130yds

Finished size: Patterned sizes: M (L) For M (tight version): Height 20/24 cm, circumference 44 cm unstretched. For (L) (loose version): Height 20/24 cm, circumference 49,5 cm unstretched. Take in consideration the stretchiness of brioche.
