I’ve designed this pattern to produce a very comfortable hat that can hold its shape really well even with lots of wear, in addition to accommodating a wide variety of hair lengths and thicknesses. The brim is constructed by holding 2 strands of yarn which creates the ideal firmness in the fabric. It has a nice checkered look along the center of the hat which adds interest and color! I
always crochet a small round of elastic at the bottom of the hat for a nice secure, long lasting fit. The pattern instructions explain how to do this.
