This is my first pattern design! It’s a “beginner plus” level as you need to be comfortable with color changes, half double crochets (hdcs), and working in the front loop. I wanted to add a little “punk” to my wardrobe, and I made this to be a less stretchy version of the checkered sweatbands.

This pattern uses US Crochet Terms in English. I recommend using the 24/7 Lionbrand Cotton yarn (1 skein black, 1 skein white) to make this as it’s thinner and tougher than other cotton yarn. The bracelet will be 6 inches long and 2.25 inches wide if using that yarn and a 3mm hook.

This is a great pattern to practice intarsia! You should use bobbins or clips instead of carrying the yarn through for the cleanest look.
