Checkered Weave Ita Bag
Have you ever wanted to make your own ita bag? This pattern is a “beginner plus” level, with lots of pictures and explanations on how to make your own vinyl window to showcase your pins. ** Otherwise this pattern is more “beginner” if you only want to crochet a simple pocket (optional directions included!).
You may sell the finished product made using this pattern but give Hook & Riot credit when doing so. Inspiration is fine, but do not copy this pattern directly and sell it as your own.
Required Materials:
Medium (Worsted-4) Cotton Yarn
I used LIONBRAND 24/7 - black (95 g / 363 yds / 2 skeins) and white (23 g / 43 yds / 1 skein)
3.0 mm and 2.0 mm crochet hooks
Scissors and tapestry needle
Optional Materials/Accessories:
8 to 12 gauge clear vinyl, clear tape, 1/16” hand punch, 8.5” x 11” paper and printer
10-inch zipper
1-inch keychain swivel snap hooks (2), 1-inch D rings (2), and a 1-inch Slide Buckle (bulk set)
Card stock or plastic mesh canvas sheet (4” x 4”)
Fabric of your choice (8” x 8”)
Hot glue, super glue, or needle and thread and clips
Links to the optional accessories used in the images (vinyl, zipper, and strap hardware) are linked in the pattern (to Amazon). If links break, please let me know.
This pattern uses US Crochet Terms in English. I recommend using the 24/7 Lionbrand Cotton yarn to make this as it’s thinner and tougher than other cotton yarn (~363 yards black/2 skeins, and ~23 yards white/1 skein was used). The bag will be 10” x 6.25” x 1” if using that yarn and a 3mm hook. A 2mm hook is also recommended for the pocket and strap.
