From No Sheep For You:

Don’t be fooled into thinking socks have to be knitted out of wool. Designer Kate Atherley has your feet covered sheeplessly. The Cheeky Ribbed Socks are knitted from pure cotton but without the droop. To balance the lack of elasticity in pure cotton yarn, she’s ribbed this sock all over. But Kate’s no knitting masochist; she’s specified a k3, p1 ribbing, which she finds sufficiently stretchy and much less tedious to knit on double point needles than the typica (and slightly more stretchy) k1,p1 rib.

Top-down construction with a heel flap, written for double-pointed needles.
