Here’s my cheetah pattern all finished finally!

You will need:

  • As for my other amigurumi patterns the hook size and types of yarn are highly flexible. Just make sure to use the right size hook to fit your yarn. Using size E US/3.5mm gives a cheetah approx. 12 cm tall. Using a smaller hook and thinner yarn simply gives a smaller result.
  • Yarn: you can use any type of yarn that fits your hook size, I used 25g acrylic yarn in 3 different colours – yellow, black and a small amount of white. This used less than 1 skein of each colour.
  • Fibrefill stuffing
  • 2 eyes (approx 12mm diameter): animal (safety) eyes recommended, but you can also crochet eyes and sew them on. If you want the cheetah to be most lifelike it should have orange/brown eyes with a black pupil. I used transparent eyes which I had coloured with orange nail polish on the backside.
  • Yarn needle to finish and to sew parts together
  • Optional: pipe cleaners for making a bendy tail and more stable front legs.
  • Optional: black or dark brown embroidery yarn for sewing on a nose, mouth and lines on the face.
  • Stitch marker to keep track of the rounds. I simply use a piece of yarn to slip between the stitches.
