Cheongwha baekja is a type of porcelain that has been created since the days of the Joseon dynasty. Its serene white surface becomes a canvas for cobalt-blue brushwork, expressing
philosophy, refined restraint, and artistic nuance through intricate designs. Traditionally, Korean decorative patterns carried more than visual appeal, conveying symbols, aspirations, and heartfelt wishes of their creators.

Drawing inspiration from the elegance of cheonghwa bakja and its dazzling peony designs, I’ve incorporated that spirit into this vest. The peony motif is both ornate and meaningful, representing harmony, wealth, and prosperity.

Enjoy the beauty of these blossoms as you knit this vest.

Skill level: Intermediate
Recommended for knitters experienced with stranded colorwork and finishing more than one (top-down) garment.
The design includes two color colorwork. In order to manage the strands, two-handed knitting is suggested.
