Cherries on Top is a stranded colorwork pattern designed featuring a cherry motif across the circumference of the body of the hat. It is worked in the round, bottom-up. There are instructions for four different sizes, from newborn to child. It’s perfect for using up left over green and red yarns for the colorwork section as it doesn’t require much yarn.

SIZE:
Newborn, (12 months, toddler, child)
Hat circumference: 13 (15, 17, 18.75)”/ 33 (38, 43, 48) cm
Hat depth: 6 (7, 7.5, 8)” / 15 (17, 19, 20) cm

YARN:

DK weight yarn in 3 shades.
MC: this is your background color, preferably a light shade that would contrast well with the green and red in the cherry motif. 27 (30, 34, 43) gr 56 (63, 71, 90) m 61 (68, 77, 98) yds
CC1: Red for the cherries and also the hem of the brim (optional). Less than 5 gr, 9 m or 12 yds is needed.
CC2: Green for the stems of the cherry. Less than 4 gr, 9 m or 10.5 yds is needed.

Sample is made with Drops Merino Extra Fine. Shades: 01, 11, and 52.

US 4/ 3.5 mm round 16”/ 40cm
