The Japanese-inspired cardigan complements the open-work design of its sister pattern, the Cherry Blossom Top. The vertical pattern, based on solid stitches and flower lace crochet, creates an open and visually interesting statement piece that can be worn on its own or added over the Top for a coordinated look.

Body of cardigan is worked lengthwise as one piece, back and forth in rows. Sleeves are worked lengthwise after the shoulders are seamed, directly onto armhole openings. Slightly fitted waist on the top and comfortable fit on shoulders and sleeves of the cardigan are achieved through increased or decreased number of stitches between points of Flower Motif joining into double crochet stripe.
