Bring a bit of spring to your couch with this cheerful throw! Except for the border, the entire blanket is worked in corner-to-corner (C2C). The “cherry blossoms” are worked by holding two strands of a long-color-change yarn together.

Unfortunately, the chart for this pattern won’t upload correctly to Ravelry, but it’s available in my Etsy shop!

  • You can substitute another colorway or yarn for the Ice Cream yarn to get a different look for your tree.
    • If you use a weight 3 yarn, hold two strands together. To get the marled effect, pull the starting strands from two different points in the color pattern.
    • If you use a weight 4 yarn, only use one strand. However, if you use a thinner weight 4 yarn (such as Caron Simply Soft), you might have to use a looser gauge with it than with the Caron One Pound yarn.
  • To avoid getting my yarn tangled as I worked and having to weave in a bunch of ends, I cut a several-inch tail every time I changed colors. I wove the tail through the square it came from so it was sticking up into the next row. Then, when I got to the matching color in that next row, I crocheted over the tail.
    • If I didn’t use the same color in the next row, or if there wasn’t enough of that color in the next row to cover the tail, I went ahead and weaved in the tail as normal.
  • If you use Ice Cream or another colorway with white in it for the “blossoms,” make sure you don’t work any of the edge squares entirely in white. A square like this will blend into the background color and make the tree look asymmetrical. To avoid this, I had to cut out a few white sections on one strand of the Ice Cream yarn.
