THE INSPIRATION

This piece is a truly beautiful representation of the work of two separate artists. There are so many gorgeous, lacy knit shawls out there, so I wanted to mimic that style for those who only know how to crochet. This shawl is so lightweight and comfortable that you will never want to take it off! It’s also very breathable, making it cool enough to wear year-round. It is perfect worn as a wrap, a scarf, a hood, or however else you want to style it!

THE CONSTRUCTION

Crocheted from the top down, this pattern is great for adventurous beginners because it utilizes many different simple stitches and textures! You will need to know how to chain and single and double crochet. In addition, this design is versatile, so you can experiment with different weights of yarn to make the perfect shawl for you.

THE YARN

I designed this elegant shawl in collaboration with Beloved Yarn, a small company based in Oahu, Hawaii. Inspired by the ocean and marble stone, Daien lovingly hand-dyed the yarn for this project, bringing both of our visions to life. Unfortunately, I can’t find this shop or dyer online anymore, but you could easily sub any fingering weight yarn, particularly if it’s a silk blend. I recommend Manos del Uruguay Fino, available online at Stars Hollow Yarns, my local yarn shop.
