The Chesapecten cowl is a rift on a favorite broken rib pattern. The simple two round pattern makes a fabric that is not only squishy, warm and fun to knit but excellent in blending color on high movement hand painted yarns.

Named after the state fossil of Virginia, the Chesapecten Jeffrersonious is a bivalve clam fossil that is found exposed along the river banks of the brackish waters in Virginia and North Carolina. The shells have a classic clam shape and beautiful delicate ribbed shells.
