Chess Bishop
Crochet Chess Bishop Amigurumi Pattern – No sewing!
This chess bishop amigurumi works well as a decoration or part of a big chess set (other figures are/will be added to my Ravelry store!).
Written pattern with a lot of pictures so it’s easy to follow.
If you are anything like me, you will appreciate the fact that this is a chess amigurumi pattern without sewing! The crochet figure is worked from the bottom up in one piece – absolutely no sewing included!
Size:
The finished size depends on the yarn you are using, with the suggested 8/4 cotton yarn the size is:
Height: 25cm / 9.84 inches
Width: 8.5cm / 3.35 inches
Skill level:
Easy/intermediate
You need to know basic stitches, increasing, decreasing, and working on back loops and front loops.
Yarn usage:
Depends on the yarn. Suggested: 180 m / 200 yards of 8/4 cotton.
Other materials:
- Hook: 2.5mm hook (or one that matches your yarn)
- Toy stuffing
- A piece of plastic/cardboard/etc. (size of the figure’s bottom) and scissors to cut it
- Tapestry needle (just for weaving the ends – no sewing!)
- Stitch marker or a small piece of other colour yarn
Notes:
The pattern uses 8/4 cotton yarn (fingering/superfine) and a 2.5mm hook.
Any yarn is fine but remember that yarn impacts the size of the finished figure. Also, the amount needed varies based on the yarn. Choose a hook size that fits the yarn you are using.
The pattern is written in standard US terms.
