Wolle: Drops Big Merino

12 Maschen (6 dunkel, 6 hell) in 7 cm
Schlussfolgerung für Mütze: 84 Maschen - 7 Wiederholungen - 49 cm
Geeignet für Kopfumfänge von 50 - 60 cm (Fotos: 54 cm)

Vorgehensweise kurz zusammengefasst:

I knitted the Chess caro hat as a gift for my sister. Since so many people liked it, I wrote down the pattern and would now like to share it.

Yarn: Drops Big Merino
Quantity: 1 light, 1 dark (for a hat with 84 stitches)
Needles: 5 mm circular needles (or another set of 5 mm needles)

Gauge swatch dimensions (unwashed): Laid flat,
12 stitches (6 light, 6 dark) = 7 cm
Conclusions for hat: 84 stitches – 7 repeats – 49 cm
Suitable for head sizes of 50–60 cm. (Photo: 54 cm)

summary:
Alternate between knitting 6 stitches in the dark color and 6 stitches in the light color, working 6 rows for each section. Repeat this sequence 7 times to reach a total of 84 stitches.
Change the knitting direction after the first 3 complete rows of checks. The floats that are currently visible on the outside will be hidden later when the cuff is folded up (see photos).
Begin decreasing after 3 more rows of checks. Knit two light stitches and two dark stitches together in such a way that the decrease lean towards the color change. Continue decreasing until only one stitch of each color remains. Depending on whether you want the tip to be light or dark, always knit the two stitches together so that the desired color remains as the final stitch.
