✻ The Chess Sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down in the round. The sweater begins with a tubular cast-on, followed by a 1×1 ribbed neckline. A mock bind-off is then worked before starting the circular yoke with a geometric colorwork pattern, following the chart. To create an anatomically shaped fit along the neckline and upper back, short rows are worked before dividing the yoke into the body and sleeves. After the yoke is divided, the body is worked in the round to the desired length. The sleeve stitches are then transferred to the working needles, and each sleeve is worked in the round to the cuff. The sweater is finished with blocking. The top-down construction allows you to try on the garment as you work and easily adjust the length of the body and sleeves if needed.
